Prudence Crandall returns to life in a re-enactment at the next meeting of the Hebron Historical Society.
Donna Dufresne will perform her own one-woman play about Crandall, who is the Connecticut State Heroine. Crandall opened New England’s first private academy for young black women in Canterbury, Connecticut in 1831.

Although the state’s budget is law, University of Connecticut trustees have delayed a scheduled budget session until October before discussing, creating and approving the university’s 2009-10 budget.
The budget planning session was scheduled for Tuesday, but has since been rescheduled to the board’s Oct. 20 meeting.
